-The Space In-Between

I’ve been thinking lately about how much space I allow “in-between” when I listen to people, especially my close ones.

How much space in-between do I allow when I listen to myself?

Space in-between as in:

When I listen – do I allow space in my mind for them, to hear them – not just the words?

Am I running past insights that can be found  in the spaces between?

Space in-between as in:

When looking for an answer, a relief to an uncomfortable feeling. Do I fill my mind space “fighting” the uncomfortable feeling with lots of other thoughts ?

Or do I trust I’m still safe? Safe enough to just rest in uncomfortable. Safe enough to listen for that space where the comfortable will show up – hidden in the space between my fighting thoughts?

I forget. Do you?

I forget sometimes that every insight I will ever come across is embedded in the spaces in-between.

I read a post by a friend of mine, Damian Mark Smyth. He pointed to that space.

It’s there for a reason.

It’s there as the ever present opportunity for you to discover the deeper insight of that moment.

It’s bringing you the opportunity to hear your intuition, your wisdom, your deeper mind; the faint clear voice bringing you insight; the deeper intelligence of Now.

And it will be there always, in every given moment – for always extending the opportunity for you to experience MORE than just the words; just the content; just the uncomfortable feeling of a flat world staring back at you.

It’s in the space in-between.

The depth.

How To Sober Up In Seconds

research article caught my eye the other day. Researchers have made it possible (at least for mice) to sober up in seconds. That could come in handy!

They had been monitoring a bunch of mice – which had the doubtful pleasure of getting drugged with alcohol by the researchers – to find out what happened when the mice were injected with the encapsulated enzymes. The mice sobered up in seconds.

The second test group of mice didn’t do as well with the sobering up, they had to stand the alcohol toxins for longer – and probably also had to suffer a worse hangover.

What was also interesting was that when the enzymes were released from the nano scale polymer it was similar to having one million extra liver cells coming in on a Sunday gig. Kind of like a cleaning company that let’s you get out of clean up after the party: They help you clean up and get rid of the crap.

A bit into the article I realized how similar the capability of these enzymes were to something we already have natural in our own thought system.

Our Brilliant Natural System

Too rarely we appreciate the brilliant system that nudges our personal development forward, thought by thought; insight by insight.

Many of our thoughts are – like alcohol on the body and the liver – poisonous. The can often be poisonious to the level that they reduc our ability to live in a healthy state of mind – much like alcohol do.

What we forget – and pretty seldom understand the level of brilliance of – is that we actually have our own high tech system going on in the way our thought works, in what a thought has the power to accomplish.

In a flash one thought can swipe the premises and clean up a whole closet of thoughts and beliefs that have been poison to our feelings and emotions.

We call this:

An Insight.

The Ability of an Insight

An insight have the power to do exactly the same thing as the enzymes in the nano capsules. Instead of clearing out the alcohol toxins, an insight can clear a big bunch of toxic thoughts together forming toxic belief structures.

We have an inexhaustible supply of thoughts, creating ideas, coming to us. We form them into beliefs about what life is, how it should be, what is right or wrong, whether I had been badly treated or not, did they disrespect me or not, what you (or any one else) should or should not do, say, think, believe.

Too soon we start believing that our beliefs are solid truths, truths that can not be changed. It could be a belief about ”how Eva, who had been so mean to me that she traumatized me forever, I will always suffer from this; never feel good again because of what she did to me …”

Those are toxic thoughts, poisonous beliefs that take up valuable space, prevents you from thinking healthier new thoughts and move on.

When the thoughts are believed to be valid and important to obey; when we believe that they are needed to protect us – then we will allow them to root in our thought system. After all, they protect us, right?

The toxic thoughts will continue to circulate in our mind and they will faithfully surface again and again. They will influence and sometimes totally control each decision we make in every given moment. As soon as our brain believes the circumstance in the moment is similar to the ”Eva-situation” – the protectives thoughts will kick in and we think we need to act in accordance with those thoughts to be safe.

It’s hard to realize that one lonely small thought, one idea, a new possible truth – in seconds – can sober up your belief system.

One insight can clear out a whole branch of beliefs that no longer makes sense to us!

How’s that for: “it’s difficult and takes a long time to change a belief and behavior”?

No, it only takes ONE new thought that we believe in. That new thought will mean it won’t make sense anymore to continue acting or making the decisions we used to do.

No manufactured enzymes in nano scale polymeters are needed to sober you up and clear up your thinking.

I’m going old school – anytime – me no need enzymes in a nano scale polymeter. Insights are the shit.

A shotgun in our closet

There have been some rare occasions (very rare, ofcourse) when I was furious at what I considered a totally unforgivable injustice. Bitterness were squirting out of my ears until suddenly: New information, giving a new thought, makes me suddenly realize the reason the other person did what she did; a short insight to how they perceived the reality of the situation… With that one insight the angry, bitter, unreasonable, traumatized thoughts and ideas of the earlier incident just cracked as fragile soap-bubbles allergic to the sun.

The insights are powerful beyond what people realize.

A BELIEF is like a weight hanging in a bunch of balloons:
a belief hanging in a bunch of thoughts that makes it fly .
An INSIGHT is like a charge of shots from a shotgun.
It can take out all the balloons in one hit.
Sometimes there’s a few balloons left to linger,
but the belief doesn’t fly anymore
– because it can no longer make sense.

It fascinates me that we so rarely think of this fantastic capacity we have. A in-an-instant sobering capacity that we have access to – naturally.
At any given moment – one thought – one insight – can clear out the toxic in our system.

We feel crappy sometimes. Some days feel like a plague and the more we think about how shitty it is, the worse it feels – and then we really start the plague by adding more toxic thoughts and feel even worse than when we started feeling crappy in the beginning.

It is so darn clever that due to the way our thoughts work, I am never more than one thought away from feeling better.

A Life Changing Moment

It may have happened to you in your life. Something happened and you had a new thought. Suddenly it felt like everything was different – even though the circumstances around you were the same.

The reason that life changing moment are possible is because of the power of thought and the inherent ability to have insights.

”Sobering up in seconds” can come to you via research of enormous cost and impressive nano technology.

And ”Sobering up in seconds” can come at no cost and via the impressive power of thought.

What are the 3 Principles for State of Mind?

This website,  3 Principles for State of Mind® is a way

– of giving insight to you about your inner ability to Stay Solid without effort or strife

– to show you how your State of Mind is created,

– to guide you to find your own solid core, through insight to the workings of three universal principles.

These three principles – who are yet unknown to most people – are constantly at work in our life, wether or not you know it.

They are like the principle of gravity: present always; neutral; affecting our day to day experience.

What’s to gain from having insight to these three principles?

When you realize how these three principles affect your experience of your moment to moment reality – you have a fast ticket to knowing how to Stay Solid – even when the going gets tough.

When you understand your thought process you will get the upper hand on unproductive, stressing or other energy draining, negative thoughts.

NOTA BENE! You will not stop having unproductive, stressing or other energy draining, negative thoughts – but once you truly have insight to how these thoughts are created – where they come from; then you will know you don’t have take the thoughts so serious. You don’t have to buy in to them. You don’t have to “fix” them. You know you just made them up – as any other story you can make up with the power of thought.

Making up your mental weather

We have the ability to make up our reality via our thoughts. You could see it like you are the sky with the ability to make up your mental weather via your thoughts.
What you think and then take seriously and believe is the reality will give you your feelings in that moment, because every thought you ever have – conscious and unconscious – carries a feeling for you.
But all in all: What weather is present right now doesn’t matter because there will always come a new thought the second you let go of the thought you have right now.
New thought = new feeling = new weather.
And really, all weather is fine
– you do not need to fix the weather! –
when you realise that it is you who are the sky.
The sky doesn’t care that it rains or storms as it knows that the weather always passes. Always.
New thought = new weather.
Hold on to the thought = stay in the weather.
Let go of the thought (stop taking it so serious) = move on to a new thought =new weather.
When we get the insight that the weather doesn’t matter it’s much easier to get out of our own way and move on to a new thought.

This knowledge is nothing new – your thought process has always worked this way and will always work this way – but too few have realized this fact, until now.

The three principles were originally uncovered and explained by a man of simple beginnings – a welder with 8 years of school who went about his life not looking for anything, not knowing there were any universal principles explaining how we create our reality via thought.

Through an extraordinary event he came to uncover three universal principles which ended him up in the middle of Albert Einsteins “E=mc²”-equation. It begins in the fact that everything is energy – MIND – and it comes to explain how we create our own reality via our thoughts.

The welders name was Sydney Banks (1931-2009).

The three universal principles:

 

MIND

Mind is what gives us the power to live and be alive – the universal ENERGY of life, the fact that we live.

Albert Einstein explained the universal energy in E=mc², the equation which proved that everything in the universe is energy; that everything is made up by different patterns of energy, both;

– our physical reality of matter (FORM),  as well as;

– our abstract reality of our mind  [our thoughts – I would say].

The three principles explain what that means for how our thought process work.

The universal energy of Mind works in the same way, always, because it’s a universal principle – much like gravity.

It doesn’t matter if we believe it or know about it or not – this is still the way it is.

Mind – the universal energy – is what gives you the power of life, giving you the power of thought and the power to of being aware of what you think.

THOUGHT

The universal principle of THOUGHT is the power of thought, the fact that we at all are able to have thoughts.

To be clear – the power of thought is NOT to be equated with each and every one of the 60 000-100 000 thoughts we have every day. The principles of thought is the principle – or the power we have – to at all CREATE those 60 000 – 100 000 thoughts.

The power of thought – as it comes to play in our lives –  is the ability to understand and create our “reality” via our thoughts.

The next step is to understand how it works. But that is kind of the side effect of having the ability to think, at all.

The thought process – and why your feelings are part of it:

In order to at all experience “a reality” we first need

1. To be alive

2. To be able to be aware

3. To be able to think, and you need…

A thought.

Each and every thought you then have is your bridge to your sensory experience of reality.

We take in the impulses from the outside material world via our thoughts where the thoughts tell our senses what we BELIEVE we see, hear, feel, taste and smell.

If we don’t have a thought – we cannot experience a reality.

What’s really cool is that every thought also carries a feeling. The feelings are immensely scary and frustrating at times – if we misunderstand where the feeling comes from – but THE PERFECT system for getting feedback on the QUALITY and CLARITY OF OUR THINKING when we DO understand and remember what the feeling is really giving us information about.

With this, the conslusion: We FEEL our reality through our thoughts.

Our thoughts brings us feelings that informs us if our thinking is helpful, high quality, trust worthy – or not.

My husband simply puts it: “We’re feeling what we’re thinking.”, when trying to not get tangled up in the explanation of what his wife is guiding people towards in her business.

Feel bad = unhelpful thinking: Do Not Trust, do not make decisions or act based on the feeling you have right now since they don’t come from a lower level of clarity in your thinking.

Feel good = ok and helpful thinking: Go With The Flow. You are likely to make better more grounded (sustainable) decisions when in a “flow”, in a peaceful state of mind.

So, there you have it. This is some of what the [principle] power of thought lets us be able to CREATE and EXPERIENCE via our thoughts.

CONSCIOUSNESS

Consciousness is our power to be aware; the power to give life to and animate our thought via our senses.

As soon as a thought comes in to our consciousness – the power of consciousness uses all our senses to animate our thoughts with seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling (via our body). The thought in combination with consciousness; what we see, hear, feel, smell, taste – creates our experience of every given moment. And every thought – on top of our senses – also carries a feeling.

Consciousness  gives life to our thoughts, it makes us aware of our thoughts, and makes the thoughts look and feel as THE reality – the only reality and nothing but reality.

And the same it true for your neighbor: His thoughts comes to life via HIS consciousness, which makes HIS thoughts look and feel as THE reality – the only reality and nothing but reality….

Can you start to see what is happening when a misunderstanding takes place or a fall-out happens?

It’s all in the belief in our own individual reality.

And, our individual reality – is created from our own individual thoughts.

No, of course I don’t get stuck anymore!

 – About realizing what the 3 principles are – and Ego.

 

The last few years I have realized that I make up a whole lot of stupid stuff. A lot of it has to do with how I try to preserve an image of myself as a really fantastic person. Which I am, of course. Well, I don’t have to work that hard on it at least ’cause I’m a natural, but you know… Sometimes things happen that could possibly imply that I’m not – and that’s… well… it kinda gets me start over again with a bunch of stupid thinking…

What I came to learn as I stumbled upon the 3 Principles for State of Mind® is that our reality is made up by our thoughts – and every thought is made up by ourselves.

We create our own reality.

We live in a by-myself-made-up-illusion created by my own thoughts – which we refer to as our ”reality”.

This is how I understood it: There are a physical reality (which is purely energy at its core) and things happen around us: Circumstances.

What thoughts we as individuals think and buy in to about each and every circumstance  is what we perceive as our reality.

Let’s take this pretty ordinary circumstance of ”being stuck”. When I take a look at “being stuck” from this new understanding of how I create my own reality via my thoughts, this is my conclusions:

 Being Stuck

”Being stuck” is just a bunch of thoughts about a circumstance that I have made up.

At that, they are unproductive thoughts that don’t tend to help me very much.

Also, I actually don’t have to subscribe to that thought, don’t have to believe in it.

I didn’t know that before. I thought that if I believed I was stuck, I was stuck. Now I’ve realized – that this is really just a matter of… thought.

My thoughts could just as well have made up another truth: “I’m just having a pause. I’m not stuck – never have been.”

The next premise I came to realize regarding “being stuck” were:

If you just leave the unproductive ”stuck-thoughts” alone and quiet your mind – new thought will inevitably come and lift your spirit and my inspiration to do stuff – sooner or later.

Much more helpful thinking. Problem solved, I just don’t think anymore about it and it will pass. No need to get worked up about stuff.

Simple enough, I presumed, who knew that the insight ”I never again have to believe I am stuck.” – would become troublesome for me! Why would it? The logic is so simple:

Even if I think I’m stuck – it’s just a thought – and I can choose not to believe in it.

Great! Easy and simple. Just ignore’em unproductive thoughts.

So then, back to business.

I was launching this website and well, the above seemed like a perfect piece of understanding to gracefully share with you for your benefit – the insight about how you make up your own reality:

You don’t have to believe in any thoughts – especially not the ones that makes you feel bad. Just ignore them, let them pass and new thought will come. You will now have peace of mind. Simplicity at its finest.

So I sat down with the laptop in my knee, coffee on the table, no more than 3 pieces of chocholate as incouragement (this would go swiftly). I was all set up and ready to share my insightful wisdom.

There were no brilliance enlightening me.

There were no words of wisdom and simplicity porling from my fingertips.

There were…. Nothing.

 Crap

Where’s my peace of mind?

Where’s that damn wisdom!?

Come on!

Then it came, but not exactly what I thought I had set myself up for:

Yes, the feelings of wisdom were speaking loudly to me. It was telling me about my quality of thought in that moment. The feeling was uneasy, tense and thoroughly ”stuck”:

Sorry, deary – your thinking is C R A P. 

Please make space for less thoughts and reflection and your core of wisdom shall get back to you as soon as there is an opening, thank you.

Right.

Crap.

Just to give you a heads up: If you choose to, or are already, embarking on the journey of learning and deepening your understanding about The Three Principles, this is what keeps going on, and it can feel like such a bugger sometimes!

One moment your new understanding looks so clear: You think you “get it”, you feel secure that you’ve understood it at depth, your soul is singing cause you’ve just realized that your life has turned into sunny simplicity. ”I get the principles.”

And the next moment, you’re ”stuck” – or whatever it might be; whatever thinking that fooles you in that moment.

You feel the uncomfortable feelings creeping up on you and you so realize that there’s nothing to do about this crappy feeling; you ”should” accept your imperfectness and just leave the thought of [insert what might be holding you up] behind, and now the thought “should” comes along and makes you feel even worse.

Breath, let it be and let those crappy thoughts go… – no, we won’t tell you exactly which thoughts thats mucking it up for you. Just don’t figure it out, darling. Just realize that this is what is.

Let it go.

Relax.

(And by the way, there are no ”should’s” – that’s just another thought.)

Crap.

Torture to the ego

The above thought process threatens to start to loop and every thought of it can be pure torture for the ego. Because as long as you are looping, if feels like you are NOT a person that ”gets it”. So the ego personal thoughts keep telling you that, really, you DO understand the principles and what they mean regarding your thinking and of course you understand that you “should” just let those thoughts go.

You know somewhere there inside that the only thing to do is to back off from the uncomfortable feelings; back off from the conscious or unconscious thoughts that are giving you that tense stuck feeling and that mushy, imploding, highway-chaos, stuck for eternity feeling in your brain – the feeling that shows up as soon as you try to squeeze that wisdom out of your annoying stuck place.

But, that’s no good.

You can’t do that.

The small voice were picking me on the shoulder:

Is it possible you don’t really realize what the principles are about? Just right now; just this second; this moment? The little voice is creaping up in my ear. That maybe you should wait for a bit; quiet your mind?

 No, I get it. I get it! I’m just about to write it, it’s just that… Just shut up will you, I’ll get this done.

Ego.

I don’t know about you, but my ego takes itself very serious at times. That’s a different way of writing myself around the fact that yes, my thoughts do run away with me. My thoughts are fraudsters of the highest league.

I used to think I “get it”, and then I didn’t, and as I didn’t – it really bothered my self made-up image claiming that I am a person who really do “get it” – ’cause you know I’ve had these insights and I’ve realized a bunch of stuff and I feel really different, so… You know?

So yes, I ”know” what the principles are and what that means for my day to day thinking – to the degree that I do, in that moment. And yes, I still feel stuck now and then. And yes, my own ego-thoughts takes that really serious, sometimes. Until I don’t.

And frankly, it IS ok. I might not feel it exactly as that in the very second I forget, but there IS an continuous echo of calm residing within me that tells me that “what is” IS ok.

What ever thoughts we get fooled by, we may very well see it clearer as we turn the corner. We might very well feel unstuck a moment from now. You won’t ever, forever and always be “smart enough” or “enlightened enough” or have “deep enough” grounding – to never again get fooled by your thoughts – to never again forget “what is”.

Because it’s not about “getting it” … It’s about “what is“- and we’ll go in on that in a later post.
